Assembly line pin-ups

In the years after the advent of Marilyn Monroe, the film industry continued to produce new female stars that would function as good actresses, role models, sex symbols and pin-up girls. During the 1960s and 1970s there was Jane Fonda, among others, who would become the first American actress to appear nude in a foreign film. Swedish Ann-Margret also became a big star for her roles in “Carnal Knowledge" and “Tommy”. 24-year-old Raquel Welch debuted with a small role in an Elvis film and quickly gained an image as the ”sex kitten” in a large number of films.
